Hey y’all! Its been a while since my last blog post.Between life, forgetting my blog password and the email password associated with said blog, I couldn’t be bothered to have all that sorted. However, here we are.
I’ve been meaning to write a post about obedience for a while. What does obedience mean to us as Christians and children of God?I am reminded of several biblical figures who chose to remain obedient despite the circumstances they were facing. The first story is that of Jesus and how he chose to fulfill the Father’s will while he was here on earth. In fact, he was so obedient that he gave his life for us all – a painful death in which he was humiliated and mocked. We are also reminded of the story of Abraham who was given an order to sacrifice his son Isaac. He was willing to go through with the sacrifice due to his level of obedience to God.God saw this and came through with a ram at the very last minute. Finally, we have the story of Esther, who through her obedience to her cousin Mordecai, was able to save her people. She knew the risks involved but still went ahead and petitioned her husband for her people’s freedom.
There are plenty more stories about people being obedient in the Bible. As it relates to our every day lives, how are we being obedient? Are we being obedient in our jobs/careers/businesses?Are we being obedient to our families and relationships with others? Are we being obedient in the current season God has placed us in?Are we being obedient serving others while waiting for things to turn around? There is beauty in obedience and we can can reap amazing rewards from our Father. We can be rest assured that God will come through for us if we trust and obey.
How do you deal with situations that require your obedience?
Thanks for reading!
Love,
Ruth
