Hello Lovelies!!!
Have you ever felt disappointed / betrayed/hurt by a loved one, friend, colleague or family member?Has the pain stung so deep that you vowed to never forgive them for what they did? I have struggled in this area and I am constantly learning that it is better to forgive and let things be.Actually, the peace you feel after letting go of such a burden is nothing that I can adequately describe. It is literally like a weight lifted off your shoulders.
This past Sunday, I was reminded through my pastor that we are to forgive like He forgave us.So what exactly does this mean?It means absolving ANYONE who may have offended us, just like the Father forgave us of all our sins by sending His Son to die for us on the cross. It doesn’t matter how big or small the offense may be, we are to forgive others.
If you’re struggling with this, I pray that God softens your heart and gives you grace.I am constantly asking for grace to deal with situations that call for my forgiveness, or people who simply try to bring out my inner #pettyqueen.lol. I remind myself that I have no authority to hold unforgiveness in my heart when I am constantly asking for forgiveness from God.When you forgive, you are setting yourself free from unnecessary heaviness. I encourage all of us to forgive like He forgave us.
Colossians 3:13 Bear with each other and forgive each other. If someone does wrong to you, forgive that person because the Lord forgave you.
How do you deal with forgiving others?
Love,
Ruth
