Hello Lovelies!!

Today’s post is inspired by a book I just finished reading titled Shaken: Discovering Your True Identity in the Midst of Life’s Storms by Tim Tebow.

The premise of the book is basically about how Tim deals with the challenges he has faced in his life, with a significant part of that covering his football career. In the book , he also offers anecdotes about the various challenges his friends, family and the children he helps through his Tim Tebow Foundation face or have faced. It is an easy and encouraging read and I would definitely recommend it to others.

What stood out to me throughout this book is how each character dealt with their challenges no matter how difficult those appeared to be.I’m talking about devastating health diagnoses, job loss (in Tim’s case), imprisonment etc. Despite all this, these individuals still found time to deal with their situation by relying on God and finding time to be of service to others. And that is what I wanted to talk about today.

Who are you when life throws curveballs at you?Who are you when your faith is tested?Do we falter under pressure?Blame others?Or do we take our issue to God and remember that He has our back. Tim talks about how devastated he was when he was cut by one NFL team after another. He recounts how frustrating the whole process was with the media attention and the attack on his faith, but through it all he remained steadfast in prayer and knowing who he belongs to.

Like Tim we have all suffered  and may be going through our own challenges right now; failed relationships, betrayal, disappointment, job loss, unemployment ,financial issues, loss of friends, health problems….the list is endless.I want to remind you that no matter how bleak your situation might be, please remember that we serve a mighty God who is more than able to meet our needs.Sometimes, we are frustrated and beside ourself on how to carry on but remember that He reminds us in Psalms 55:22 to “Give your worries to the Lord and he will take care of you. He will never let good people down.” The bible also gives us an example of how to remain unshakable in our faith through the story of Job and how he chose to praise God in the midst of his trials. Isaiah 41:13 states, I am the Lord your God, who holds your right hand, I tell you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I will help you.‘ Let us not forget who we belong to and to remain faithful to the God we serve through every situation.

Thanks for reading!

Love,

Ruth
